5 Things A Bossmom Should Never Compromise

Dear friend,

Thank you for checking in. Here are some invaluable notes that I have held close to my heart but know they will be golden nuggets for anyone working towards a fulfilling and productive life. Here are five principles I live by to succeed and things I would NEVER shortchange myself of;

Family Life

Being a mother is the greatest job that a person can have in the world is who you are to your family. Children are our investment in the future. When a child is raised with strong core values and a great support system then their achievements are limitless. Having set traditions or time to focus on your family can also be an unspoken way of letting them know that they are priority and your greatest achievement. If you can have family time regardless of how busy life gets then you are onto a winner.

Financial Value

It has recently been highlighted that women are most likely to get less pay within work. This is regardless of their skills and expertise. I believe that when a woman knows her value then she is able to price at her value. Now I’m not saying to go and ask your boss for £1,000,000 just because you feel like it. However I am saying that you damn well should know your value. How do you do this? By being aware of the impact of the service/product that you’re putting out. If no one else can do what you do at the standard that you can do it then factor that in. So basically have proof! Be bold! Show them that you deserve a seat at the table.

Vision

When you have researched your vision and tied all lose ends by confident in your ability to execute your vision. It’s super awesome when you’re surrounded by experts with the ability to critique and streamline your vision. However, if you have a lot of naysayers telling you not to even try to execute it then you may have to reevaluate your company darlings.

Integrity

We don’t do shortcuts in the YSS corner! We grind and ‘make’ it happen! Sometimes success or achievements aren’t going to happen over night. However, if you are willing to put in the work, take the ‘high’ and ‘hard’ road then you are certainly going to get your ‘pot of gold’. Short changing your mind, body or spirit for the price of success is seriously not worth it. So what if they’re doing better or you’re success is taking too long?! Your integrity is far more valuable than any other achievement that you can have. Hold onto your integrity and in due time you will reap the rewards.

Legacy

This, to me, is one of the most powerful things that you can have. It takes a person not afraid to go for what they want. It takes a person that is focused on impact. Is your hard work and grafting tied into your purpose? Are you working aimlessly. I believe that it is only a conscious and determined person who will leave an impact. It is someone who knows that their voice will have the ability to echo through time. When you are no longer on this planet, what are you going to leave behind? What will be the extent of your impact? When you can answer these questions then you know exactly what to FOCUS on. Whether in family or in business your LEGACY will speak for you beyond your lifetime.

None of these attribues will be easy to hold onto but they are important and if you do fight for them then I'm certain that you will be happier, smash targets and add bounds of value to your life. These are my most personal, invaluable nuggets that I have learn't on my journey to becoming a successful bossmom.

Yours Sincerely,

Sal
